FAQs
Q: What does REDINGOTE mean?
A: The word redingote is a French derivative of the English words "riding coat" and is defined as a 19th century highly tailored outdoor riding coat for inclement weather. We've reinvented the redingote using today's technical advancements and modern sensibilities for the 21st century equestrian.
Q: How warm is the winter jumpsuit?
A: We designed the insulation level to layer perfectly over the riding outfit you would wear in the current temperature. For freezing or slightly above freezing temperatures, you may just need a long sleeve and a pair of breeches or jeans. For below freezing temperatures, you may add a base layer and a top layer, such as a sweatshirt or vest.
Q: Can I ride in my REDINGOTE?
A: Absolutely! Our jumpsuits are ideal for before and after rides as well as in the saddle in the appropriate weather conditions.
Q: Is it breathable?
A: Definitely. Our technical shell fabrics in both our winter jumpsuit and our rain gear are engineered to let warmth escape, while not allowing any cold air or moisture to come through from the outside.
Q: Can I use it for other activities?
A: Yes! We may have focused on horse riding for some of the suit’s features, but it’s also perfect for skiing, sailing, hiking, dog-walking – you name it!
Q: How do I care for my jumpsuit?
A: We recommend hand washing or washing on your machine’s delicate cycle, then line drying. Blanket wash is an excellent detergent option as it helps preserve the waterproofing.
Q: Is there a warranty on it?
A: We guarantee your satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with our product when you receive it, or if it does not perform to your satisfaction, you may return it for a replacement or refund.
